Javas/Alsi Chutney

( A Maharashtrian side dish made from flax seeds).

This chutney is a delectable, keto-friendly, gluten-free combo of some super ingredients. Omega-3-fatty acids are ‘good fats’ that our body needs to maintain optimum health. Very few foods obtained from plants contain these fatty acids. Thus, vegetarians have very few options to meet their omega-3 requirements. Flax seeds(called ‘Alsi’ in Hindi and ‘Javas’ in the Marathi language) are a great option in this regard, as they are rich in omega-3- fatty acids. Incorporating them into our diet is a great way to ensure that we get these essential fats into our system. This chutney is an easy recipe that can be relished with roti, rice, bhakri, or bread. It can be stored easily in an air-tight container and relished every day!
