RECIPE VIDEO
Ingredients
2 cups unsalted peanuts without skin (बिना छिलके वाली मूँगफली)
1/2 tbsp oil (तेल)
1 tsp turmeric powder (हल्दी पाउडर)
1 tsp red chili powder/ Kashmiri red chili powder (कश्मीरी / लाल मिर्च पाउडर)
1 tsp dry mango powder (आमचूर पाउडर)
1/4 tsp chaat masala (चाट मसाला)
salt as per taste (नमक स्वादानुसार)
Method
Halve the de-skinned peanuts by rubbing them between your palms and breaking them with your fingers.
Heat oil in a pan/kadhai. Once the oil is hot, add the turmeric powder. Stir well for 10-20 sec on low flame.
Add the peanuts immediately to this oil. Then add red chilli powder, amchur powder, chaat masala, and salt. Mix well.
On a low flame, roast the spice-coated peanuts for 3-4 minutes. Turn off the heat.
Store them in an air-tight container once they cool down.
MASALA SING/PEANUTS ARE READY TO EAT!
Notes -
You can get de-skinned, unsalted peanuts from your local grocery store, and use them directly.
If you're using peanuts with skin, start by removing the skin. Roast the peanuts on medium heat for 8-10 minutes, then let them cool. Once cooled, take a few peanuts at a time and rub them gently between your palms to peel off the skin. This method takes time, and thus, I prefer to buy de-skinned peanuts instead.
If you are using salted peanuts for this recipe, adjust the amount of salt you add accordingly.
Adjust the amount of red chilli powder according to your preference.
These peanuts can be stored in an air-tight container for about a month.
You can use these peanuts while making Dabeli, eat them as a tea-time snack, or carry them in your tiffin to relieve your hunger pangs.
