Green Chutney
( A spicy chutney made from coriander, mint leaves, and green chillies).
Chutneys are an integral part of Indian cuisine. Every state in India has different variations of these chutneys. However, two chutneys dominate the street food in India - the chaat chutneys. One is a sweet, tangy tamarind chutney and the other is the hot and spicy green chutney.
Indians love spicy food. Thus, the green chutney is the most versatile chutney recipe in India. It is an accompaniment to sandwiches, bhel, tandoori dishes, pakoras, samosa, batata wada, cutlets, and all kinds of chaats. It is called by various names - the ‘tikha chutney’, ‘Mumbai chutney’ or the ‘sandwich chutney’.Sharing my recipe for this simple chutney on the blog today.

salt as per taste (namak)
1 tbsp lemon juice
Method
Start by separating the coriander and mint leaves from the stalk.
Wash the leaves properly to remove any dirt from them.
In a blender jar add coriander, mint, salt, cumin powder, sugar, chaat masala , green chilies, gram dal, garlic cloves, and ginger. Add little water and blend to make a smooth paste.
Add lemon juice and mix well.
GREEN CHUTNEY IS READY TO SERVE !!
Notes -
This is a spicy chutney. However, you can vary the amount of heat by adding green chilies as per your preference.
The coriander and mint leaves used should be fresh. Fresh produce always enhances the taste and color of any dish.
I add a little gram dal to make the chutney a little thick. You can skip adding it.
