Dry Peanuts/Shendanyachi Chutney

 

(Spiced peanuts, dry coconut, and sesame seeds powder)

Chutneys are a perfect Indian meal accompaniment. Indian cuisine has a wide variety of dry and wet chutneys that are an indispensable part of Indian cuisine. Chutneys provide essential micronutrients to the body. So, it has been customary to serve little chutney/s on the plate, in every traditional Indian meal.

Here are a few Indian chutney recipes-

Today I am sharing a very simple dry chutney recipe- ‘The Peanut Chutney’. It gets made in no time, uses very few everyday ingredients, and can be stored for a month in an air-tight container. This scrumptious peanut chutney is a perfect companion to any roti-sabzi combo. So let’s get to its recipe!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup peanuts (सींगदाना )

  • 1/2 cup dry grated coconut (किसा हुआ सुखा नारियल)

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (तिल/तीळ)

  • 2 garlic pods (लहसुन/लसूण)

  • 1 tbsp red chili powder (लाल तीखा मिर्च /लाल तिखट पाउडर)

  • 1/4 tbsp sugar (चीनी/साखर)

  • salt as per taste (नमक/ मीठ)

Method

  • Dry roast peanuts, coconut, and sesame seeds on low flame. Let them cool down.

  • Transfer the roasted peanuts, coconut, and sesame seeds to a grinder jar.

  • Add garlic pods, sugar, salt, and red chili powder. Grind to make the chutney.

PEANUT CHUTNEY IS READY TO BE SERVED!

Notes -

  • You can store the chutney in an air-tight container for a month.

  • You can eat the dry chutney as it is or add some oil and mix it with the chutney.

  • You can add dried red chilies instead of red chili powder. Adjust the amount of red chili used as per your liking.
