Ingredients

For the Pedas -

  • 2 cups milk powder (मिल्क पाउडर )

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (पिसी हुई चीनी)

  • 1 cup whole milk (दूध)

  • 1 tbsp clarified butter (शुद्ध देसी घी )

For garnish -

  • Nuts of your choice (कोई भी ड्राई फ्रूट)

Method

  • Mix milk powder, sugar, and milk in a pan/kadhai. Mix the ingredients well and ensure there are no lumps.

  • Start heating this mixture on a low flame. Keep stirring it continuously.

  • The mixture will start to thicken.

  • When the mixture attains the consistency of a dough, turn off the heat.

  • Remove it on a plate and let it cool down.

  • After 10-15 minutes, when the mixture is not too hot to handle, take small portions of this mixture and make pedas.

  • Garnish with nuts.

MALAI PEDA ARE READY TO BE SERVED !!

Notes -

  • It is imperative that you keep stirring the mixture while heating it on a low flame. This mixture tends to stick to the bottom of the pan/kadhai and burn. So, be very careful.

  • Initially, if you feel that the mixture is not smooth, you can add more milk to it.

  • You can adjust the amount of sugar added as per your taste. If you want your pedas to be less sweet, add less sugar. Adding a little more than 1/4 cup sugar instead of 1/2 cup should give you less sweet pedas.
